The COVID-19 pandemic, otherwise known as the coronavirus pandemic, is an ongoing global pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Although it is still ongoing it is already considered to be one of the deadliest pandemics in history.
The coronavirus has already spread to almost every country in the world. It has led to a substantial loss of human life worldwide, and presents an unprecedented challenge to public health, food supply and the world of work.
Using the visualization below we can see which countries are impacted the most by the virus. The map gives an overview on the matter and can be seen based on the number of cumulative cases in each country. Each country is coloured based on the different classes of severity.
As the world begins to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic by way of countless vaccine breakthroughs and the wonderful ongoing vaccination process, we can start to see how the number of vaccinations is correlated to the number of cases in each country.
